The Danube Bike Trail is 2850 km long and offers a variety of landscapes. The Danube originates in the Black Forest in Donaueschingen, Gerany. From the source of the Danube you bike to Ulm through the Black Forest and the Bavarian baroque cities.
Your cycle tour along the Danube will take you through its gorge and valleys, to pretty little towns like Donauwörth or Ingolstadt, on the UNESCO World Heritage city of Regensburg and eventually Passau. The Danube led an important heritage on the culture of the regions it crossed as Johann Strauss and all anonymous authors of the larches and legends testify.
The Danube Bike Trail leads through Austria via Linz, where you can taste the famous pie, via the world-famous Melk Abbey and of course Vienna. The Danube then continues to Slovakia and Bratislava to Hungary and Budapest (Buda and Pesta are actually two parts of the capital, located on both sides of the Danube ). The river then continues towards Croatia, Serbia and Belgrade. After reaching Romania at the Iron Gates it flows into the Black Sea in a large and beautiful delta.
