We had a great time cycling amongst the Loire valley châteaux from Blois to Tours

    On the 2024-09-30 by JamesT
We drove from Scotland via Le Shuttle to enjoy the Loire at the end of the season. We stayed in Category A hotels, we slept well and their patrons and staff were all friendly, helpful and considerate. The bikes and routes were good. The domaines de chateaux were delightful. All excellent value for money. We then proceeded to spent a fortune on fabulous foods, wines and dining experiences. A great holiday.

A wonderful way to explore the Loire Valley

I highly recommend Le Velo Voyageur. Every step was well done, beginning with communication before the trip. The app was fantastic--really impossible to get lost using it. The luggage was always there when we arrived at each hotel. The hotels were good, and the bikes were excellent. I appreciated often having 2 options of routes to choose from, one longer and one shorter, so that you could choose each day depending on weather and if you had more or less energy.

    Excellent Bike Trip

My husband and I just did the Loire Valley Classic Bike Trip. The staff at Velos Voyageurs were so responsive to any emails before the trip and when I had one glitch during the trip, they were very helpful. The app you use while biking is amazing and keeps you on the correct route. The hotels were all quite nice. We loved biking around the French countryside and seeing some amazing chateaux. I rented an e-bike and that was very helpful as I am not an athlete. I highly recommend Velos Voyageurs and this trip.

Fantastic tour of Loire and its chateaux

On the 2024-09-07 by Janet and Georgie
We are not regular cyclists but wanted to do this as a mother-daughter trip, with a good mix of culture, culinary delights and exercise. It exceeded expectations in every respect. The bikes were great, the routes charming, sometimes challenging, all enjoyable. Friendly, comfortable hotels in lovely locations and the very smooth luggage transfer service meant that we never had to worry about the weather (just as well - we started and finished in very wet conditions). Thank you to the team at Le Vélo Voyageur!

Everything is taken care of so you can just enjoy the ride. Ebikes meant we had plenty of time to explore along the way. Enjoyable and scenic routes that kept you off busy roads but got you to some amazing places. Great bikes, lovely hotels, luggage transfer worked well, navigation app was fab.

    Overall pretty satisfied

    On the 2024-05-29 by Mark
The itinerary was very good and we were glad that we avoided main roads and enjoyed the bike paths and country lanes We were glad we had electric bikes. It just made the uphills a tad easier particularly in the latter days of the trip or got us to shelter more quickly when it rained.

    Lovely Tour of French Countryside

This was a fun and easy trip with six friends. The equipment was very comfortable and reliable (one bike had two flats). The accomodations were fine and the luggage service was flawless. The app provided a very easy way to follow the route. The five days of riding were relatively easy days allowing quite a bit of time for exploring and enjoying the bars and restaurants.

    Interessante Radreise

    On the 2023-09-16 by Annette

    Great Biking Experience

    On the 2023-08-07 by Cheryl
For someone like me who gets worried about the details, those who arranged the trip did a good job with the details, the GPS system provided was a real bonus, and the team responded quickly to emails before the trip even started. If you follow the directions provided and the green signs of the Loire Vally biking path, you'll have a wonderful time. The weather in the Loire Valley was fantastic--perfect for biking.

    Genussreise an der Loire

    On the 2023-07-04 by Angelika

    We loved our Loire Tour

    On the 2022-07-21 by Ian
We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our trip. We are so pleased that we booked it. The bikes mechanically were very good and reliable, we had no problems, not even a puncture. The accommodation was very good in all locations and situated very well, very close to the centre of town and the historic districts - wonderful. The breakfasts were good and the staff in each location very pleasant and helpful. The written guidance notes / instructions and the maps were clear and concise. We loved the route, the tracks were very scenic, safe and quiet, away from traffic allowing us to relax and enjoy the ride and experience together.

    The lure of the Loire

On the 2019-10-28 by Philip and Penny
Do you think you can manage cycling through villages, medieval towns, vineyards, beautiful pastoral river scenes? Would you like a fresh warm baguette on a cold day? Perhaps a bottle of wine and some raspberries, perhaps some fromage? Pause for a cup of coffee before you continue your journey. Oh, wait, another unbelievable chateau or another spectacular medieval church. Thanks to the guidance of Velo Voyageur, this was a well-planned trip which required very little on our part. They provided excellent bicycles, thorough well-planned directions, advice and accommodations. We could not have asked for more. Well, the weather was not ideal, but one can only expect so much in October. Despite having a couple rainy days and mostly cloudy days, we enjoyed and will cherish the memories of every moment of this trip. The accommodations were always delightful and the hoteliers were always informative and helpful. The riding distances were always reasonable, allowing time for exploration and deviations if the moment presented itself. The road surfaces were varied, some paved, some gravel, some dirt and were all well-marked. It is difficult to describe the feelings of peace and tranquillity that one may experience on a bicycle ride through vineyards, forests and villages in the Loire Valley. In so many of these places we felt as if we were constantly stepping in and out of a pastoral landscape painting. Is that possible? Well, perhaps, but I think we’ll have to do it again to be certain. Thanks for everything. Phil and Penny

    A Great Peddle

    On the 2018-06-14 by Kenneth
I am an elderly New Zealander with moderate day cycling expertise but little French touring experience. Selection of this tour was to fulfill a long-held interest in cycling through the Loire Valley. My tour was organised before I left NZ by an efficient, English-speaking staff member. As I find map reading difficult, fearful of getting lost and as I was cycling alone the use of a GPS proved to be essential - its presence on the handlebars of my bicycle removed virtually all stress; time and time again the unit enabled me to enjoy the passing, ever-changing exquisite French landscape and yet arrive at my destination safely and on schedule. The route was very well-planned, I only walked up one hill. I avoided all major roads, heavy traffic and even difficult intersections. Instead my route wound its way along pleasant small roads, cycle tracks and farmer's tracks, through tiny villages and amazing wheat fields, in deep, lush-green forests and along river banks. The selection of scheduled stops at Castles gave me a well-earned break and satisfied my curiosity. The Bed and Breakfast style accommodation in small boutique Hotels, complete with French style and character enhanced my experience perfectly; each day my luggage was waiting on my arrival. Knowing there was a twenty four backup system in place, though I did not need it, was great comfort. In summary, I am unable nor would wish to suggest improvements or changes to Velo Voyageur's organisation or to my Tour, their service met my needs entirely and it was 'excellent value for money.' If I were to cycle in France again, I would use the services of Velo Voyageur again and what more could you ask for than that?

A recommander !

Merciiiiiiiiii

Velo Voyageur did a great job organising this trip. The accommodation (category b) was good, especially Maison Blanche in Amboise. The cycle routes around the Loire valley are excellent, miles of scenic routes and no cars; brilliant! One week is insufficient to fully explore all the Chateaux between Blois and Amboise, ten days would have been better by far, we'll definitely return.

The Loire Valley: From Blois to Tours

    On the 2016-05-27 by Sally
We had the most wonderful family riding holiday in April. From first contact eevrything we experienced from Velo Voyageur was terrific. Their communication was great prior to the trip, answering all my questions promptly and thoroughly. The bikes & equipment was great, the accommodation (we chose the middle level) was charming. The directions for each step of the ride were clear and easy to follow, the countryside, towns and scenery were superb, and the support from the staff when we discovered my daughter had left her soft toys in one of the previous nights accommodation was wonderful. They tracked down the toys and delivered them to us the same day - so very kind. Our kids (age 9 and 11) loved the trip as did my husband and I, and say that it was their best holiday ever. Thank you Velo Voyageur we cannot recommend you highly enough!

We will send pictures later, as we are still on holiday with our relatives in southern France. We were totally happy with our trip! Thank you for doing an amazing job. The bikes were great, the information was easy to follow and the accommodations were super nice.We couldn't have been happier.

On the 2014-08-10 by Marie et Stéphane
